Devil in the Detail

Rate this book
Loves comes in all shapes and forms, and sometimes it can be hard to distinguish which one you’re given.

I run from my pain—that’s just what I do. It’s how I’ve managed to keep a handle on the shame and remorse at what I did the day my life changed. Has it changed me for the good, or for the worse—I can never be sure? Some days it’s one and most it’s the other.

Now, each day is getting darker, ever since I met the woman who has the power to ease my ache and got a taste for what could be.

Selfish? Maybe. Foolish? Definitely. But nothing can stop me until I prove to her she needs me just as much as it kills me to wake up one more day without her.

I’ll do whatever it takes—even if I risk my life and my health fighting her psychotic and possessive old man to get her in my bed.

This was AMAZING!!!!
This has to be one of the most amazing and refreshing MC books I’ve ever read. It has everything I want in a book; strong characters, passion, emotion, love, loyalty and a solid storyline.
This is the tale of Ramona and Ty. Ramona is a mother and a good one at that. She is an old lady of the Butcher Boys MC. She belongs to Sawyer and she has his child, her little boy Mack.
Sawyer is a very complicated man and he is haunted by his own demons. Their relationship is dysfunctional but he has always been her rock. When his insanity catches up with them and he is threatened to be taken away, Ramona meets Ty.
She is immediately attracted to him and it is obvious that they share a connection. Ty can offer her what Sawyer cannot; love and his heart. But Ramona is bound to Sawyer and wants to take care of him because no else understands him like she does.
But can she forget her feelings for Ty?

Ty has his own nightmares to fight but he wants Ramona. His feelings for her are pure and he wants what’s best for her.

This book is a complicated tale of passion and danger and I simply loved it. It’s part of a series and you must read the first books in order to fully understand what’s happening.
The writing is flawless and all the characters spoke to my heart. I was torn between Sawyer and Ty because I loved Sawyer when I read about him in Devil May Care. We got a lot of insight into his complicated head and I absolutely love him.
Ty himself is amazing and despite his own problems, he loves Ramona.
Ramona is brave and generous and I found her simply adorable. She is a great heroine.
The secondary characters add to the story and you will love them; especially King, our president.
If you want something exciting and deep, then this is for you! You will love this book.
If you have not started the series yet, do it now because the first book is FREE!!!

5 Devilish Stars from me!!!

~*~ Obsessed by books copy given in exchange for an honest review ~*~

"We're all riddled with rot, brother. The only way to keep living is to clean it out sometimes, however you choose to."

Ty is the go to guy within The Butcher's Boys, relied heavily upon to keep everyone alive he gambles a little piece of himself everytime he takes on a job and pays a high price with his soul everytime he loses. Running on almost empty, he punishes himself for not feeling worthy in his own way, his methods are escalating and has a way of coming back to haunt him. We learn that a tragic accident as a young boy and the sole blame laid on his shoulders has led him down a dark and twisted road, straight in the line of fire
in a turf war that just became very personal. Embedding his remaining crew into the MC life Ty's thrown a game changer the moment his eyes settle on Ramona.

The ex old lady of Sawyer, the half crazed not very likeable but has a back story, Ramona is trapped. Stuck between the past and the lifestyle she choose and the consequences of her baby daddy's action she questions whether it's time to stay or go? Wanting to be the best mum she can be Mack is her motivation, believing a fresh may be the best for all concerned. After Sawyer's previous blood soaked journey into cuckoo land his obvious lack of control has meant a hard decision has had to me made and he is made to pay the price as he is sent home to his brutal father - with the desd that he may not survive. One murder too many one twist of the crazy dial too far and Ramona is left on her own with her son, living with the prospect of no longer belonging because of the actions of the man she chose.

Ty and Ramona meet at the wrong time, with the MC getting deeper and deeper into war and many debts left to settle. Too many issues are in their way and club business needs to come first. Ty has lost his focus that he sorely needs to ensure the job and the plans run smoothly but one look at het has sent him careening..he lost his heart and maybe his reason the moment their gaze met. Unsure where she stands with Sawyer as he is the father of her child and saved her from her previous lifestyle with the MC her loyalty is shredded as she tries to divine her feelings for the two men in her life. Ty has his own demons to wrestle, can she be the light to his darkness?

Interwoven into the building rival MC plot to go to war is a strong sense of family and brotherhood, pain and tradegy as the lifestyle doesn't come without a high price tag. We meet some old and new faces and the we get more embedded with the club members. It's a diverse and rich story that explores deeply the choices we face and the impact our actions have on those around us. Hard hitting and gritty I love Max Henry's writing style. It's sexily edgy and the devil really is in the details!

A four and a half star read.

I don't even know where to begin..... Max Henry, you totally outdid yourself with this book. I laughed, shed a few tears, smiled and had my heart ripped in two. But I wouldn't have it any other way.

Let me just state that I HATED Sawyer in the previous books, then in "Devil May Care" (book 3), I had a better understanding why he is the crude and miserable person he is. Now "Devil in the Detail" (book 4) is not about Sawyer but the characters are trying to pick up the pieces of their lives due to his rebellious and destructive actions. The timeline straddles the events following the second book but also some of the events in the third. So you MUST read them in order, if you want to know the back-story and all the heart wrenching details.

Ramona, the mother of Sawyer's child, is trying the best she knows how to raise her son the right way. With having Sawyer as a dad and constantly around the MC, her only fear is that her son will soon go down the same dark road his father and become a mad man. All she wants to do is move away. A better life is what she craves but with no job and dependent on financial support from Sawyer, she finds herself stuck.

The MC and Butcher Boys have captured Sawyer and are planning to send him back to his father(a man who is so crooked and lethal, its not funny) in exchange for the safety of Malice. But something is pulling a Ramona's heart strings. She is not "in love" with the man, but she does have some twisted emotional bond with him. Sawyer has never been a good father or even a good "Old Man", but he isn't the same around the guys as he is with her. He has this pull on her emotions and Ramona has the need to take care of him. She just can't ignore her feeling for this man, can she?

Ty, a fellow Butcher Boy, can't stand the situation he is currently in. One of his best friends has been killed and the guy who committed the vicious crime is sitting tied up on the sofa. Why can't they just get this over with? Turn this mad man over to his crazy father and be done with it. He has other things to do, but something or better yet, someone has caught his eye and his whole world is about to change.

There is a instant spark between Ramona and Ty from the beginning. He is compassionate, kind and so thoughtful, Ramona doesn't know what to do. She is so use to Sawyer's cold attitude and treatment, she is kinda wary of Ty's actions. What does this well dressed hipster want with her? She doesn't live the same way he does. She has a kid with a crazy person, WAS a whore for the MC and on top of it all has absolutely nothing to her name. But something about this man lights a fire in her that no one, not even Sawyer, has ever done.

Ty is so use to putting on his happy face and solving other people's problems that when his own issues arise, he goes to the most extreme measures to deal with them. However his interaction with Ramona has him feeling differently. He doesn't have the need to physically himself, she takes that away just by being there. She calms him and for that he is transfixed. His need to help and comfort her is foreign, but there is only one problem: Ramona has a "Old Man" and he knows she still has feelings for him.

Throughout this story, both Ramona and Ty must dig down deep and settle their own issues before either one of them can be happy. Ramona must decided if her love for Sawyer is "True Love" or just a maternal love for a broken man. Can she break free of his hold on her and start something with Ty? Ty can offer her everything she has ever wanted but at what price?

Ty has major issues of his own that definitely needs to be addressed before he can even start something with Ramona. Confronting his demons must be his top priority but is it worth it? All he wants is Ramona. To be with her and treat her the way Sawyer should have always treated her, but can he deal with the fact that she may never be his? Can he just walk away from his one true happiness?

Again, let me say that I LOVED this book. Ty and Ramona, I think have one of the purest relationships out of the whole bunch. Both have such strong chemistry, that as a reader you will root for them til the end. But can they get their HEA?

All of our favorite characters make appearances and even some new ones as well. We get a glimpse into their personal lives and what events will come in the next installments. We get more of King and his baby momma drama. Something is definitely happen to Bronx and somewhere that is a stripper who is needed to be found LOL). I strongly suggest reading this book and the previous ones. Ms. Henry outdid herself and I can't wait to read more about this Motley Crew!

ALSO I NEED MORE SAWYER, his story was left open, so Lord only knows what will happen to his crazy man.

This is a series I started back in 2015 (it feels like it was about 4 years ago) & I was reflecting on activities that I start and never finish like my never ending washing pile, cleaning my car or setting up my guest room.

Devil in the Detail was just staring at me… waiting, watching, it was kinda creepy. For those of you that don’t know Max Henry is an Australian author and I’m all for Aussie talent and will get behind it 100%.

After reading Sawyer’s novella and then seeing the dynamic between Mona & Sawyer – my heart was a little broken, and I tried to justify all the reasons she should pick him.

I ended this story with VERY mixed feelings and I think it will still be a little while before I finally finish this series. Even though, there is only 1 left. Ugh, I don’t know.

Soundtrack: Devil in the Detail.

Not Afraid Anymore – Halsey
Bad Things – Machine Gun Kelly
Million Reasons – Lady Gaga

Signing off conflicted & indecisive, Terri.

WOW what can I say after reading 'Devil in the Detail'?? I'm lost in my AWE at Max Henry's work, not only do I get an indepth look into a new set of characters, but I'm still able to see what's happening with the other characters & the club. The realness of everything within the book, made the story so much more enjoyable for me. Sucking me into to the story, twisting me into knots & then spitting me out at the end. I was filled with suspense at times, then crying in others, gripping the edge of my seat, then wishing things would quiet down just once for the characters.

I'm finding it hard to write anything more for this review, as I've said everything I want to say about this book for the previous 3 in the "Butcher Boys" series... I don't want to copy & paste my last few reviews here...

I love Max's writing style, the realistic characters & romance between them all, it's not your normal boy meets girls, she's swept off her feet, they lived happily ever after type romance... it's more real, grity, & you have to work for it, but once it's discovered, WOW. I don't want this series to end, Max keeps introducing new characters that pop out & you start wondering who they are, what's their story...

Oh how I love Ty! Wish these words were about me – ‘I met the woman who will change my life. I think, in a way, she already has’. *sigh*

The prologue – so good, a proper pep talk to rival the best motivational speech…..Shia LeBeouf take note (have you not heard this? Google!)

I really like Mona, her and Ty were just adorable. Is it weird that I also loved Sawyer though he is a maniac, well sort of?! But my favorite was King – I so want Kings book! Him and Elena were just so fiery – their book will be explosive!

I really enjoyed reading this story. It was my first Butcher Boy and I am now intrigued about the others!

Devil In The Detail (Butcher Boys Book 4)
Max Henry
4 stars

Okay so I have to admit I was somewhat confused when I started reading this ARC. I was highlighting stuff left and right to go back and make sure I understood who the characters were. Having said that this is a really great story and there seems that we will get more. There isn’t really a cliffhanger per say but you are going to want to know what happens to Bronx and a few other gems we get to know. It was more like a what the heck reaction when there were no more pages and that’s in a good got to know way. I have also listed the previous books in this series in order to help you understand what’s about to throw down.

When I went back and did this myself things made a lot more sense. I have not read the previous books but went directly and snatched all of them up in anticipation of the soon to come Devil Smoke. So the list of books in order goes like this:

Devil You Know (Book 1) – Malice and Jane

Devil On Your Back (Book 2) -- Vince (Malice’s Dad) and Sonya

Devil May Care (Book 3) Short Novella on Sawyer, his father Carlos and Dana. We meet Sawyer in Devil on your Back and he is grade A psychotic. This novella gives you the needed insight on why he is the way he is.

Its also a lead into the new release:
Devil In The Detail (Book 4) Ty and Ramona’s Story with some Sawyer thrown in.

Coming soon: Devil Smoke

Onward to the review. The book opens with Sawyer in a rather gloomy predicament. The club president, King has gathered up Ramona (Sawyer’s old lady) and Mack their son to a safe house. Callum the clubs VP is also there along with Vince and Malice. Malice is NOT a part of the MC but Vince, his father is. Sawyer is awaiting his “trade” to his father, Carlos in order to make some sort of peace. Carlos is a major player and is demanding retribution for a lost deal. Bronx, Malice and Ty have called upon the MC’s to bring down Edward Hennington who has come over from England bringing a few family members with him. However they are looking for new blood. Eddie and Carlos are two big players that need to be taken out.

Carolos has a hit out on the Butcher Boys (Bronx, Malice, and Ty) after one of Ty’s men was responsible for Eddie getting in on a distribution Carlos had in their area. However Sawyer took out Ty’s guy first thinking he could one up his father. Carlos has agreed to back of the Butcher Boys if he got the distribution back with some extra payment. However the plan is to get Bronx in deep with Eddie’s group of men in order to take Carlos and Eddie both down leaving the MCs back in charge and free from threats. The other MCs that have agreed for their own personal reasons to join in are The Fort Worth Crew: Hooch (President), Crackers, Jo-Jo and Road Capt Murphy. LA Mongrels: Tap (President), Hando (VP), Mick (Sgt Arms) and Road Capt Mick. Hooch has a personal vendetta against Carlos as he killed Dana, his sister and Mel, his other sister, is presumed dead as well.

Just when you think you know whats going on … BOOM. There it is. My mouth dropped wide open in shock! YUP. There are so many things going on in this book that I was giddy because it means there will be more. Throughout the story you meet Elena and her son Dante. She was intertwined with Carlos at one point but her son is King’s. WHAT!?!?! Oh yeah. Deep stuff going on here. It’s a wicked web we weave right??!?!?!

That is just a small part of the crazy twisted events going on in Devil In The Detail. I don’t know how I missed this series. I remember clicking on a sample of book one thinking this is really good but then never got back to it as I had other things that needed read and reviewed. This is an incredible new author discovery for me thanks to my girl Tracy. I know you might read this review and say lawd I cant keep up but yes you can. Major stuff is about to go down and I cant wait to see what happens with Bronx. He has gone in deep and the guys are just waiting …..

In the mean time the trials and torment Ty and Ramona go through are rough. Ty has a sinister past and Ramona has done everything in her power to stand by Sawyer. He’s beyond damaged and unpredictable. For their son she will try anything. But what is the right decision? She wants to run but what good will it do. The life follows you. It never leaves. Death, loss and heartbreak; how does she explain that to her son. How does she explain the man her father is? Ty is trying but for how long will he continue to pursue someone that is unsure of everything in her life and entrapped by a man that is hunting she and her child.

This is FAR from over … Go grab this up and click the previous books as well. You wont be sorry! GREAT READ!

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

Max Henry does a great job of pulling you into the story right off the back with a powerful prologue. Learning Ty's back story brought tears to my eyes. Seeing Ramona fight internally over decisions she had to make were heart wrenching at times.

Ramona is a sassy sarcastic woman who fell in love with a biker who only wanted to own her. She has to think not only of herself but her son when trouble comes knocking on her door. Does she stay where she is with the family that loves her and will protect her or go off and start life over with the unknown. She is conflicted about staying and letting her son grow up to possible be like his daddy or run away from everything and everyone she knows and loves.

Ty is the brains behind the Butcher Boys. He has his own demons to deal with but is determined to let Ramona know she is not alone and doesn't have to face them head on by herself. He is determined to make her his but her love for another may be too much for him to overcome.

I loved Ramona's sarcastic side when Ty is around. You can tell she loves the guys of the MC as brothers. I found myself shaking my head and getting frustrated with Ramona when it came to some of the things she said and did. Ty was amazing trying to break through Ramona's heart and get her to let him in. I was moved at the graveyard scene I'm telling you his back story was heartbreaking and I wanted to climb in the book to hug the young Ty. Loved that when everyone didn't think Ty was up for what was going down he stood there and held his own gaining respect. There are so many great characters in this series I would love to know more about all of them. There is definitely something going on with Bronx and I cannot wait for his story. This is not a cliffhanger but there are things left unsolved. This series has kept me interested and I want more...more of the story...more of the guys...more HEA for all of them. Great job keeping my interest in the story, making me not want to put the book down, and having me wanting more.

A few of my favorites:

A fire ignites inside of me. One day I’m going to change the way she feels about that—I know it. It pains me to see such a breathtaking woman so upset. Miracles of beauty shouldn’t express such an ugly side of life. It’s just wrong.

“You don’t think you can. Saying you think is only admitting the chance of defeat is higher than that of success. Positive, Ramona. Think positive and say ‘I know I can’.”

“The biggest changes are always the ones we have no control over because we never see them coming. They’re always an accumulation of tiny steps in our life that we paid no mind to given they were so inconsequential on their own, but when you analyze them all together, you wonder how you never saw the end result for what it was, how you could let things go that way without doing much to stop it.”

Breathing is a concentrated effort, the air running thin about me as she ducks her head and turns away. With each step she takes toward the door, my anxiety builds once more, climbing to a new height as the catch clicks behind her. I stand like a fool—a love-struck fool—watching her shadow disappear toward the hallway. I met the woman who will change my life. I think, in a way, she already has.

But Ramona—there’s this defiance, offset by her compassion. She has fight, a will to survive. Fuck, I don’t know if that’s all it is? How can I label that gut feeling you just get that a person can be everything you’ve been looking for?

“See? She thinks you should be the one looking after me, too. Sure you won’t fit that nurse’s uniform?” I shrug. “If not, body-painting one on is always an option.” The shocked look on his face is priceless.

REVIEWED FOR SERAPHIM BOOK REVIEWS

Ramona and her son Mack have been screwed over by Sawyer (Ramona's ex and Mack's father) too many times. He is a bad man and has all but abandoned them. He has placed them in danger. So Callum our favour Motorcycle clubs VP has put them in a "safehouse" while Sawyer is dealt with by his own father (also a bad man).

Ty is a guy who has his own reasons for hating Sawyer, he has his own issues and mountains to climb (metaphorically). These two meet. Eye contact. And something starts. Theyre both confused, because, yano, what the heck? But Ty is a good guy and when Ramona needs someone to breakdown on (although she is awesomely stubborn about it) Ty steps up to the plate and takes her much needed vent like a man.

He's a good guy, she's a good woman, on paper thats great, but with so many issues surrounding them, what good could possibly come their way?

"I've missed you too. It makes no sense, we talked, it was one night." "To me, it was the only night that mattered"

When I was about 40% I felt kinda "Meh" about the whole thing but being with the blog I knew I had to crack on regardless and I'm SO GLAD I did! I no longer feel meh about the first bit, I feel angry at myself for feeling that. Max Henry has delivered again!!!

Sawyer, well this isnt a book about Sawyer, but he deserves a mention here, for people that have followed the series (And yeah, do read the series on order) we all just know Sawyer as a massive divvy (That is the most polite way i can put it). He still is, he's not had some magic change, but we learn more about why he is the way he is.

Devil in the detail has a lot going on, it was busy but worth it. Meeting new people, catching up on some much loved characters from the previous books and emotional journey that hits all the spots.

"Any more excuses why you don't need my company?" Her face lights a little at my cheeky smile, but she hides her joy quickly. "Not Yet."

“Ty’s forehead touches mine, his eyes closing. ‘Fuck gettin’ shot. All I want to do is take you upstairs and worship every inch of you. It’s like the universe is conspiring to keep us apart.”

4 stars. This book was such a joy to read. I fell in love with Ty, he’s such a strong and important character in this book.

This book was insanely good. It almost took me by surprise how much I loved it. It was, I’m at a loss for words really, I loved this book so much! You can’t help but fall in love with Ty and how adorable he is. You totally feel for Mona and her son considering everything she has to go through because of her husband! I really want to see what will happen next, it wasn’t necessarily a cliffhanger, but it leaves you wanting more. Great book!

I have been eagerly anticipating this book since we met Ramona back in Devil on your back, her and Mack wound their way in to my heart and stuck there, so as soon as I could, I jumped at a chance to read her book.

After reading Devil May Care, my heart ached for Sawyer - and after experiencing his character again during this book, it just cements the fact that he is seriously misunderstood.

Ramona, dude some parts in the story I really did wanna reach through and smack you upside the head and ask you what the hell you were thinking with some of your stupid decisions.. like seriously! How the ever loving hell you could think that some of the things you done were the best for Mack was just beyond me... Crazy lady - although I can on some level understand...sort of, I still think your bat shit crazy.

Ty, oh dear lord Ty - you my lovely were perfect and you have most def worked your way into my top 10 book boyfriends list of 2015 so far. It felt like a bloody tennis match for me, let alone what it was must of felt for you :(

While I enjoyed this story, I felt something was lacking. There was a certain scene I would of preferred in the other characters POV to experience the full effect. I personally felt, as a big lover of the Butcher Boys series so far that this one didn't live up to the rest of them but I did still enjoy it.

I am looking forward to Brock's story and hopefully Max can get her level of writing back up to the standard I know she can write at.

Okay, admission first – I have previously started two other books by Max Henry and couldn’t really get into them. It may have been my mood at the time, who knows, but I took a risk reading this one. I’m glad I did as I really enjoyed it. Suffice to say I haven’t read the previous books in this series but I didn’t really feel like I missed out on anything and I didn’t feel there were any major spoilers in this book, I managed with no problems to fill in gaps here and there.
I felt this was a little different from your average MC book, Ty isn’t really an MC character but he’s quite immersed in the lifestyle. Ramona is an ex old lady with strong ties to the club. I found both characters to be emotionally heavy but I felt a little disconnected to Ramona. I don’t know why. I think maybe that the quickness of their relationship threw me off a little. It was extremely deep extremely quickly. Plus she had conflicted feelings, and sometimes the way she treated Ty left a lot to be desired.
There’s a scene in the book that absolutely put the fear of God into me (you’ll know when you get there) and I really have to take my hat off to Max for the way in which it was written. It really did pull the fear out of me. It’s one thing I need in a book, the emotion and I think it was well captured in this book.
I’d definitely recommend this, I’m going to go back to the books I have already and try again to read them as I feel like I’m missing out by not giving them another chance.

I loved this book! Ty, oh my gosh, did I love him! I laughed, was sad, happy and just all over the place!

Ramona and Sawyer have a child together, but Mona is worried about raising her son the right way. She does not want him to go down the same path his dad has. She wants to move away and start a new life, but without a job and depending on financial support from Sawyer, she is finding herself stuck with the MC club.

Mona is not in love with Sawyer, but she does have an emotional connection with him. He has never been an outstanding father by any means, but she still feels to the need to be around him and take care of him. Until she meets Ty.

There is instant chemistry between Mona and Ty the moment they see each other. She had never been treated with such compassion and kindness that she is leery of Ty. Ramona tries so hard to feel how she feels about Ty out of respect for Sawyer, but when Ty is with her son, it instantly likes him even more Ty has so many problems and past demons going on in his life, that he is used to putting on a fake smile and dealing with them in his own way. He finds that he does not need to punish himself whenever he is around Ramona because she is his comfort.

Will Ramona and Ty finally face that they are what each other needs? Will Sawyer let go of her so she is able to find her true love? Will Ty be able to let go of his past and his demons to finally be truly happy?

I had no idea this book was part of a series until I cracked it open. The blurb grabbed me and I decided to dive in and I had no issues figuring things out. I am usually a stickler for reading series in order, but it was not necessary with this book, it can most definitely be read as a standalone.

This was a breath of fresh air for me since in the past I have not really "jived" with the MC books I have read, but I enjoyed this one! It was not over the top with the crazy violence, illegal stuff and cheating like in other series I have read. Now, biker book lovers don't panic there was still debauchery going on, but it was not in your face making you wonder why the hell anyone would even consider being a member in an MC. Ramona makes you actually consider it. She makes you see through the bad and embrace the good this was her family. She makes you see the good in these rough and tough men.

I loved Ty. Again, he was not the obnoxious caveman that I went into this book thinking he would be. He was a bad ass biker no doubt, but he was also sweet, romantic and had the right balance of wanting to protect and care for Ramona that made you swoon.

Thank you Max Henry. Thank you for making me want to take a step back into the book world of MC's! I will be grabbing the rest of the books in this series to try and catch up with the remaining Butcher Boys!

Another good addition to the Butcher Boys, but still not great.

Seeing Sawyer do better was one of the best parts of this book, especially with Mack. Also getting to know Hooch a little better, especially that little surprise he dropped was pretty nice. It makes me have hope for something really great that Sawyer truly deserves.

I loved Ty and felt for him, even though his little problem didn't really sit well. I just didn't buy it or get any feels for him because of it. I did however feel for him with what happened in his shitty childhood.

Ramona on the other hand made me want to scream. She was wishy washy, couldn't make up her damn mind, and got on my last nerve with that crap. I mean seriously she wants so much for her son, well having a mother who can make up her damn mind and stick with it would be helpful. I didn't care for the fact that Ty had to do everything to be with her while she just stayed around the place where she whored herself, I don't care how you feel about them I don't think it was very fair to Ty.

Overall it was a good read but like the first two the heroine just didn't work for me, at least she wasn't just a flat out bitch like the other two, I have to give her that. She wasn't stupid but I didn't care for her back and forth through the entire story. So once again it was a good read for me but not great.

Turmoil on the rise.

Devil in the Detail has an unique storyline that made for a really good read.
Ramona is in a bad situation brought on by her old man, Sawyer, and his battle with his dad . Their mc family, the Fallen Saints, has to deal with him until his dad picks him up. In the last few years he has committed numerous heinous crimes. All Ramona wants to do is keep her small son safe. She never knew your life could change within a night.
Ty was brought into a bad situation due to work. He uses more of his brain than his braun. In one night he meets a woman who he knows is gonna change his life. After one night he yearns for Ramona and he wants to help her and her son. This brings Sawyer, Ramona, and Ty into a tug-of -war.
Devil in the Detail was such a rollercoaster of emotions for me. At one time I wanted to throw my kindle out the door. I felt for all these characters at one time or another in this book. The battles they struggled with as all three battled their inner demons. I would suggest this book to anyone that like the contemporary/suspense romance but buckle in it will be one heck of a ride.

Great Read but Should NOT be read as a Standalone
Well, I have to admit I was often lost while reading this book, but not because it was poorly written, it was actually very well written but not having read the other book in the series, I had to do a lot of back tracking and used a lot of mental muscle in order to get through the book. That being said though the story was very good and I fully intend to go back and one-click the other books in the series which I feel will give me an even better picture of everything i just read. The story is intriguing and kept me reading despite the unusual extra added effort on my part. The fact that I didn't drop it to go back to the beginning immediately speaks volumes for the author's talent. The plot is intricate, suspenseful, and definitely captivating. I absolutely love Ty and Ramona and can't believe the things that they have to go through. There is totally a maelstrom of events going on in this volume. I definitely recommend it, but strenuously recommend reading the first three books in the series first. I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

3 Stars

I went into this book without reading the synopsis or really even looking at anything to do with the book at all! I didn't realise this was the 4th in a series and although they could all be read as stand alone's I felt a bit disconnected from the other characters. This was totally my fault for not paying attention though.

For me this started off actually pretty good, it had me interested and I wanted to know where things led! The further I got into the book though the more I felt the story started drifting away. I felt as if it dragged on a little.

I really wasn't fussed on Ramona, she really annoyed me with the way she acted. I hated how she treated Ty at times and I just wanted him to say stuff it.

I actually liked Ty loads though, I know he was messed up but there was just that vulnerability to him that had me hooked from the very start!

This story just wasn't really for me but don't let my review put you off!! I think a lot of people will love this story and I wish Max every success!

This series gets better with every book! This story was a deviation from the more typical story lines, and that was so refreshing! There was drama without the angst. There were lots of points that could have gone the way of a miscommunication, or trauma, but instead, Max showed the characters dealing with issues as adults. It was drama without the angst. I loved it!! The story was a bit of a slow start - I had some trouble getting into it. But by halfway, I couldn't put it down! The story was complex without being overly cumbersome. I loved the interplay between the main characters (Ty and Ramona) with the secondary characters. And the secondary characters kept their feel from descriptions in previous books. In all, it was a great read that was very well written!

This book took me 7 hours to read.
I recommend it if you enjoy: River Savage, Tillie Cole, Stacy Lynn or Natasha Thomas.

Oh wow. You need to read the previous books in this series to really understand the on goings.

When Ty and Ramona first lay eyes on each other there is an instant attraction. From that moment on all he wants is Ramona. He does everything in his power to show her that he is there for her and is not shy to let her know how she affects him.

Ramona can’t deny her feelings for him either but feels like she is betraying Sawyer even though theirs is no longer a romantic relationship.

Both Ty and Ramona need to deal with their issues before they can ever be happy together. Will Ramona be able to set herself free from Sawyer? Will Ty be able to overcome his demons?

I love Ty. I think he might just be my favorite so far. Kind and devoted yet dealing with his own turmoil. Ramona a great mom only wanting what’s best for her son.

Another suspenseful, dramatic, emotional read. All your favorite characters from the previous books make an appearance as well and you will not be disappointed.

In this book, we find ourselves back with Jane, Malice, Ty, Bronx, and Ramona. What's going on with Ty and Ramona? You're going to have to read and find out. Does Sawyer show back up? Who is Carlos' ex and what role does she play in this book? Why? When the girls go over to her house, what do they go dressed as? Why? What happens while they're there? Who shows up at the door after the girls go inside? What happens then? When Sawyer is confronted with Ty's feelings for Ramona, what does he say to Ramona when he sees what is between them? What does he do? You're going to have to read this book to find out what happens. We have some really near death experiences in this one.

Holy hell. I fell hard for Ty. He was such a fantastic leading man in this story. He was passionate with a flair for the naughty talk and totally broken with a need to punish himself for something tragic from his past. He made me laugh. He made me cry. He made me all hot and bothered. I heart him. BIG.

Then there's Mona who I adored. She found the MC years ago and they became her family. So when she is devastated and floundering these are who surround her wanting to take care of and support her in piecing her life together. She was so strong even when she went a little crazy. She is absolutely perfect for Ty.

I loved that the author just brings you right into the story and you can't help but invest in the lives of these characters. I couldn't put it down from the very first page and devoured every bit of it.

I give Devil in the Detail 5 hearts!

I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review.

The trials that Ty and Ramona go through are rough. Ty has a dangerous past and Ramona has done everything to stand by Sawyer, her son's father. He’s beyond damaged and unpredictable. For their son she will do anything to keep him safe. But what is the right decision? She wants to run but what good will it do. Death, loss and heartbreak; how does she explain that to her son. How does she explain the man her father is? Ty is trying but how long will he continue to pursue someone that is unsure of what she wants in her life and while being hunted by the man that is her son's father. I can't wait for the next book, I really enjoyed this one.

This book was a refreshing new take on the MC story and I could not put it down. This is book four in the series and it helps to read the other books in order to know who the players are. This book begins being about Sawyer. A man that is lost in his own problems but it is more about Sawyer’s old lady, Ramona and her attraction to fellow MC member, Ty. Sawyer is being made to pay for his sins and Ramona is conflicted with doing what is right for her son’s future and her past feelings for Sawyer. Ty is trying to be understanding but he wants Sawyer gone and wants more for Ramona. This was quite the triangle and I was as torn as Ramona in deciding which man to choose. This story keeps you guessing what is going to happen next and I look forward to seeing where this series goes.

I fell in love with Ty this is a first for me in this series, “if it makes you feel better, I think you look very appealing, too.” I match her smile. “Now we’re even.” Ty honestly stole my heart I really loved him he has a rough exterior and some of the things he does is borderline weird, but he has a gentle way about him, "Ty’s forehead touches mine, his eyes closing. “Eff gettin’ shot. All I want to do is take you upstairs and worship every inch of you. It’s like the universe is conspiring to keep us apart.” This series gets better with each book, you see the characters from previous books get more developed and new characters you fall in love with. I'm hoping King is up next.

Oh how I love me a great story. I really enjoyed reading Devil in the Detail by Max Henry. Max did a great job on creating a great series to read and that is followed by other books before this one.

Ramona is trying her best to take care of her son. Sawyer is hanging out with the MC that he frequents a lot. Ty is a fellow Butcher and isn't happy where he is at the moment. When Ramona and Ty meet sparks fly between the two.

There is a lot happening in Devil in the Detail. But is also so worth the time and reading it. I highly recommend reading these books in order to understand the whole story.

I was eagerly awaiting Ty's story, and it is all here. We get to know him and what's going around in that handsome head of his. He's very complexed and I can see why when he comes clean. Ramona is still slogging her why though the dirt that the life she chose has brought her way. Can she make a break? With Sawyer making an appearance she is torn.

I enjoyed the story, but sometimes I couldn't feel any chemistry between the two main characters, and Ramona came over as a little 'flat'. It was still a great story though and I look forward to the next book in the series.

I did not want to put this book down…… I loved the way the characters interacted with each other. It made you feel as if you were part of them; you could really feel what Mona was feeling towards Sawyer & Ty, what her struggles were. The action and suspense in the book kept you wondering what was going to happen next. This book had it all; love, lust, bikers, drug lords and danger in more than one form. This book gave you every detail you needed to play it out in your head and get a clear vision of what they all looked like. It was more like watching a movie than reading a book.

This is Ramona and Ty's story, and obviously Sawyer's as well.
It was a great story with plenty of love and angst and a bit of action too.
Ramona is Sawyer's old lady but the relation is far from normal and the situation they find themselves in even less.
Ramon meets Ty and it's an instant connection.
With other dangerous situations and different problems with the MC, Ramona is caught between the two men and a difficult choice..She has a son to think about.
What will Ramona do? What kind of danger awaits them?
It was a different take on the genre and I enjoyed it.
