Devil's Blood (Royal Blood Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 136 ratings

We would embrace the darkness together… Or not at all.

Xavier Blood
is a man adrift. And a dangerous man without purpose is a lethal cocktail for disaster.
Mercy Reid has her revenge, but it’s not what her heart desires most.

After everything he’s been through, X doesn’t want to know where he came from, let alone who he was. Mercy has become his life, his anchor, his everything, so why should it matter?
Mercy thinks X is delaying the inevitable and pushes him to understand the thing he struggles with the most—his identity—but it might be one push too far in the wrong direction.
Who is Xavier Blood? Only one man has the answer and it’s the man Mercy wants to meet the least. The more X withdraws into his broken mind, the more desperate she becomes to save him, even if it means coming face to face with the man who tortured and conditioned her love to be a cold hearted killer.
The Watchman has the answers, but are they the ones she wants to hear?

Thank you Amity Cross, for writing such an amazing story. Loved the relationship between these two...it was hot at times, each paged turned wanting to know what was going to happen next... the suspense was driving me crazy, but I didn't sneak a peak...
Is this last of this series, hoping its not... a must read

Well that was a stunning conclusion to an incredible series. I did see some of it coming but was still intrigued to find out how it would be pulled together.

Mercy and Xavier are in love but won't admit it to each other. Typical right. Anyway, they go through hell and back to get to where a future may be possible. With all the twists and turns it could go either way, and with the "The Watchman" involved, there's no telling who will survive.

I highly recommend this thriller conclusion to an fabulous series. Do yourself a favour and read them in order. They could be read separately but makes more sense in sequence.

Fast-paced, tension, dramatic and edge of your seat reading. This book is brilliant.
It’s book number three in the series but please don’t let that put you off – this is a series that is a must-read.
So we continue on with X and Mercy’s journey. Mercy is X’s star pupil in teaching her the skills to be a killer. She’s good. She’s very good. But it’s X’s character development throughout the series and this book in particular, that had me hooked. Big, bad man actually does have a heart. He is not the man who started the series and he couldn’t possibly be given everything he and Mercy have been through.
Mercy is one tough cookie. She is exactly what I want in a heroine. I admire for her grit, her edge and her attitude. I have to give praise to Amity for the complexity of this story. The way the story unfolds has me gasping and eager to follow the twists and turns. I am a huge fan of the TV shows Alias and Covert Affairs and this ending, is better than Alias’ ending. I have my fingers and toes crossed for another instalment.
I was given an ARC for my honest opinion.

I read this on behalf of A Book Lovers Emporium Book Blog!
I am actually struggling for words to do this book the justice it deserves!! I have read all of Amity's books and they're all fantastic, they just keep getting better but this one had me on the edge for 3 hours from start to finish! I actually felt sick with nerves a few times not knowing what was going to happen next. I absolutely love to read a book that makes me feel a number of emotions and I definitely felt those reading this amazing continuation of this series.
If you like a book that's a little on the darker side then this series is most definitely for you. You do need to read the previous books as this is one series you do not want to miss! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars

When I first met X and Mercy I knew that it was going to be a dark, intense and erotic relationship. The connection that their bond is built on is full of murder, revenge and discovering who they truly are. Ms. Cross has written this adventure so well that I felt emotionally attached to X and Mercy. The people responsible for X being the cold assassin that he became are beyond evil. Mercy is the only one that has broken through all the conditioning and finally touches the heart of the man X once was. The action is non-stop and heart-stopping. I read this book in one sitting. I had to find out what happened next! Characters from previous books are brought in to tie up loose ends and find answers. This whole Royal Blood series has been one of the wildest roller coaster rides I have been on. Now that the whole series is complete I plan on reading it again from beginning to end. Ms. Cross brought this part of X and Mercy's journey to a perfect conclusion. Maybe in the future we'll be treated to an update of what has happened in the live's of those that survived Devil's Blood.

This is a tough review to write. Why? Well, I'm not a fan of reviews that tell you half the plot line and if I ever see spoiler alert, I run a mile. What I will say is - OMG ,When you turn the last page on Devil's Blood, you will know that Amity Cross certainly knows how to write a 5 stars plus read. All of the Royal Blood books have gripped from the beginning , played with your emotions but kept you on the edge of your seat. Royal Blood is no different, except for you need to add a few WTF moments too. A brilliant read, excellent storylines, strong characters.
I really hope there is more to come??????
