    This book was beautiful in every which way. I think Lukas my be my favourite ever male lead out of all the books I have ever read. The love he has to give to the world was just so precious and so rare, he truly was a beautiful man and soul, it was heartwarming reading his story from his childhood to the present, he was unique and shows that the depth of a person if far more important than anything else. Ivy was a truly relatable character and I know many people would read this seeing themselves, this is something Carian does so amazingly well in this series. This series is gripping and I can't put it down.

    An old soul in a hot young body, Lukas has lived a thousand lives when he meets Ivy. She’s older, a mother of two and about to be divorced. But their souls sing out to each other, and Lukas knows he’s found his match.

    The path to true love never runs smooth, however. Ivy’s initial reticence over the age gap between them is a challenge he readily accepts, and wins. Her ex husband does his damnedest to split them up, and just when you think they’ve overcome everything, another bombshell is dropped into their lives.

    Lukas and Ivy are wonderful characters. They are passionate, intelligent, loving, articulate people who deserve a happy ending. This story fits so well into the wider series, and I love how the stories weave in and out of each other. Reading the same scene from so many different perspectives is brilliant. I think this is my favourite book of the series so far.

    WOW!! Lukas and Ivy's book is an absolutely beautiful romantic love story.
    I forgot just how much I loved them together.
    The raw passion and deep connection they share still sent shivers down my spine.

    Age really is just a number when it comes to Ivy and Lukas, He may be younger than her but he's is a lot more worldly wise than Ivy, Lukas is an old soul with strong values and morals. I loved that about him.

    If there's one man who deserves to be loved, it's Lukas. He has the biggest heart and just needs someone to protect it.
    Ivy is just the woman for the job, she too has the same morals as Lukas and believes in soul mates.

    Ivy and Lukas are perfect together, they Worship each other, they're a match made in heaven. I fell head over heels for them both during their emotional romantic journey.

    I absolutely loved this book, Lukas was a hot, sexy, caring and loyal man and Ivy was a sweet and loving woman, they had their ups and downs but of course everything turned out well in the end. It was such a lovely story and now I don't know which of the Valentine men I love more (is it wrong to love three men at once when you're a married woman?) I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes their romances hot and sexy but I'd recommend you read Storm and Vandal first.

    I've read all Ms'Cole's stories in this series to date, and I love this Valentine family. While not all earned top 5 stars, it's simply because of my own personal preferences and comforts that affected my rating as the books are written to a top notch standard, and tempt all kinds of emotional responses.

    This book was a five star until close to the last chapters.. Enter SPOILER FROM NOW ON.

    While I had no issue with what the daughter did, * she was a spoiled little bitch in my book*, I didn't think the author carried it off well at all. It was too fast, too sudden, and the effect it had too drastic in such a small time frame of readable lines and paragraphs. While her skill as a writer isn't challenged because the lady can most definitely write, I just didn't think she hadn't the skill to take on a subject that had a daughter behave as she did in trying to set up her mother's much younger fiance and the mothers instinctive knee jerk reaction which while was right in reality, felt very much that of a woman totally blind to how much a brat her daughter could be and how big a bastard her ex was. While reading it I felt like it was a 'Duh' moment when the h woke up to the fact her H was innocent. It just felt too rushed so the impact never happened beyond a faint eye roll and wanting to smack Mum for not seeing what her daughter was doing. There just wasn't enough time given in that incident to produce the emotion that a plot of that kind deserved even if you were to believe Lukas might be a dog. So a loss of a star for moving too fast on something that warranted better and more in dept coverage to squeeze all the hurt out of the situation.

    Anyway to that point it was a the perfect love story...perfect win of each others hearts, perfect guy who was an old head on young shoulders. He was gorgeous. Pity that mother and daughter were so stupid on both sides of their fences. It was redeemed in the epilogue simply because of the arrival of a lovely new baby and I hope that story isn't left to lie there but is looked into further with the respect such a plot deserves. I don't like doors being opened that aren't treated with care where children are concerned....so I'll be watching.

    Despite my issue with that awful teenage daughter, it added the drama that seems to be a formula of these books, it's a great
    story with a beautiful young man who has more sense than some of the women he's taken on in his life. He deserves all the happiness his intended bride MUST now give him.

    4 stars easily but robbed of 5 because of the shoddy way the drama was dealt with, which was a pity. But I feel positive irrespective of that, the book carries enough joy to shake off that bump....so enjoy.

    Lukas is an emotional, beautifully written book about finding love in the most unexpected of places. For our hero, a kind, sweet, gentleman, it is his first chance at having a family with the woman of his dreams. Our heroine, Ivy, takes a bit more persuading: twelve years older than Lukas, with two children and newly divorced, taking a second leap at love will require courage and confidence. Lukas and Ivy are two immensely likeable characters, easy to root for and with off the charts chemistry. If you like your romance sweet with some heat, this is the book for you. It can be read as a standalone, but there are crossover events with the two previous Ashes and Embers books which makes it, in my opinion, best read as part of the series. However you read it, you will fall in love with this story and be hungry for more from these characters. I am eagerly awaiting to see if Carian Cole intends to write a sequel!

    Lots of feels in this dramatic, well written and emotional romance. Older heroine (36) and younger hero (24), so there are lots of issues to be worked through, including a cheating husband and an older teen who is meddling. Plus of course the age gap. There are lots of steamy romance scenes, emotions flying and an interesting back story. 4.5 stars. I didn't want to stop reading, hence the higher rating.

    I am reading this series in order and it is a stand alone if you have no intention of reading the other stories in this series. I would say that if you haven't read anything this author has written, read this series and all her books in order from the original publication dates, as characters from all her books make appearances at various stages and there may be spoilers. Available in KU and in audio.

    I’m not usually a fan of reverse age gap stories, but this book is amazing. The characters, especially Lukas, are so strongly written. I love Gram as well. The world building is phenomenal. Lukas’s home, a former church, sounds gorgeous. The plot of the story is amazing and fast paced. While Lukas and Ivy are falling in love, they must deal with a lot of drama created by other people in their lives, but their feelings for one another help them survive the negative events that happen.

    I highly recommend Lukas, book three in the Ashes and Embers series. It can be read as a standalone. Read it and let me know what you think - I’d love to discuss.
