Play Softly (The Devil's Share Book 4) Kindle Edition
ROCKING OUT
Dash Connor, lead singer of The Devil’s Share, has everything planned: the party, the candles, the music. He’s going to ask Lexi Grant to marry him. Not that getting hitched will make any difference in how he feels about her—head over heels just about covers it—but they have a baby on the way and that little bundle of joy is going to have his last name. But, like everything that’s happened since the first day he met Lexi, his best laid plans are about to be upended. But, it’s all good—except for the trouble brewing with his bandmate.

About the author

L.P. Maxa lives in Austin Texas with her husband, daughter, 3 rescue dogs, 1 stray cat, and 1 fish that keeps dying and she keeps replacing so her toddler doesn't notice. She loves reading romance novels as much as she loves writing them. L.P. is new to the writing game, but she has published 4 books in her first year alone. She says that inspiration can come from anywhere; a song lyric, a quote, a weekend with friends. The tiniest things spark amazing stories.

I have to admit that I was surprised at how quickly this book was released after Play Fair! I thought we would have to wait at least another 5 or 6 months!
Dash has finally decided and found the right moment to propose to the love of his life Lexi! But his unborn daughter also decides that she wants to be in on the action and decides to make an appearance four weeks early! In all that chaos, nobody stops to check on how Luke is feeling! Play softly is all about Dash & Lexi adjusting to having a newborn. But also on how Luke struggles with his feelings for Lexi finally it comes to a point where Luke has to leave, he has to try and get over his feelings. He wants to be around his family but he doesn’t want to be the mopey one. He wants to be able to see Lexi and Dash be happy and get married and also see little Halen grow up. But he doesn’t want to see it and forever wish that it were him marrying Lexi and Halen growing up to call him dad instead of Dash. With Luke leaving and the epilogue being his, gets us ready for his book, which is the next book and hopefully we will have soon.
P.s I love the baby name! I have never heard of a baby called Halen before, it is very unique!
PP.S what ever happened to Lexi’s Best friend? Luke’s Sister. She just disappeared from Lexi’s life,. Or have I forgotten something?
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 June 2017LOVE LOVE LOVE this series. I've written the same thing for each of the stories so far but its the truth. It's honestly one of my favourite series I've ever read and it only keeps getting better with each book. I'm seriously invested in the lives of these characters now and i feel like I'm apart of the D/S family. Play softly seriously pulls at your heart strings and you definitely need to get the tissues ready for this one. Can't wait to read on for Luke's story next!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 October 2017The first book in the series had the story of Dash and Lexi meeting and their subsequent romance, the second ditto Smith and Dylan and the third Jacks and Bryan. I had expected the fourth to be about Luke and someone but instead it took up the story of Dash and the very pregnant Lexi and how theirs and the others lives were changing.
It was another good read and it looks as if the next book will be about Luke.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can you say perfection?
Loved it!!! This entire rock star series is phenomenal. The author understands we don't want to wait forever for the next book or events. All of the characters shine in their own unique way, it's a first that I love them all. L.P. is brilliant for giving us much of every character every time not leaving us questioning how they are. Halen, great name, great band and the birth...hysterical. Dash and Smith alone with the baby, priceless. If you haven't read this series in its entirety please do so now. One of the best and you don't have to wait long for the next book.
Great characters, oh yeah, absolutely. Great storyline, yes. Threesomes, no. Sexy, yes. Cliffhanger, no just an opening to Luke's story. Cheating, no. Funny, definitely and light and playful. Typos, I'm not sure, if there were please overlook it. I wasn't asked to review this and am not a friend of the author.
I'm going to be very sorry when it's over. Anne Mercier's Rock Star series was my favorite rock star read but L.P.'s just won out. Bravo!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect!
Oh my god! This book was perfect! I fell for Dash even more (he's one of my ultimate book boyfriends) and Landry is gorgeous! I loved the touches of humour but it was also heartbreaking. I'll admit I never really warmed to Luke but this booked changed my opinion. I love the Devil's Share and can't wait for the next instalment!

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!! That's all I can say...
I started reading Play Sofly this morning and just finished at 9:50 pm and I worked all day today. This novella was just beautiful. I've read the whole Devil's Share series and I'm in love with all the characters. The series is so well written, the characters so well developed that I really feel like I've shared all their experiences with them. I can't wait for Play Hard. Luke deserves a happily ever after- I hope he gets it. I'm an L.P. Maxa fan for life. Great book-Great series!

4.0 out of 5 stars Wheres the best friend , AMY !!!!
I really liked Dash's point of view in Playing Softly, he was truly the best one for Lexi. However not once was her best friend Amy mentioned in this book , who also is Lukes sister , so to me the story line could have been more developed and thorough. So that's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 and also for 100 pages for price of $2.99 for a novella type story is high.
