This is the second part of Fallon and Luca's story and it was amazing.

The development of the relationship between Fallon and Luca was very well written. While Fallon seems to be going through one tragedy after the other, Luca has to battle with himself deciding wether to help her or not. The miscomunication that seems to be a big problem in their relationship already in book 1, just had me wanting to tear my hair out at times

I think it was a very good continuation, while the first story was very much staging the scene and all the issues not only in their relationship, but in personal lives as well, the second book has those issues escalating and straight up exploding. It kept me reading because even though some things that we happening seemed pretty predictable, there were still some plot twists and turns I did not see coming. it kept it very interesting.

The only thing that still really bothered me, the same as in book 1, was that there were some descriptions and explanations that just kept repeating themselves. for example, the hierarchy in the syndicate.

The conclusion to Fallon and Luca's story. I think Luca has the patience of a saint because Fallon just blows hot and cold on him in this book, to the point that he has to walk away from her. Because Fallon won't tell Luca everything that is happening to her, some tragic things happen to Fallon that Luca could not protect her from because she did not trust him.

This is a real mafia romance because some dark things happen to Fallon one of the main characters of this story. After these incidents which happen to Fallon her prospect on life gets re-adjusted and now she can live and move in Luca's world and accept all of him.

    Great conclusion.

What can I say? It has everything in this book. It's darker than 'For Fallon' and had me really crying. It's full of suspense and surprises. It's so well written and I'm amazed (and maybe a little concerned lol) at how much Soraya knows about the Mafia and Syndicates. It also has hot sex scenes in but are well placed and not over the top. I highly recommend this series

I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review.

If you haven't read For Fallon, you need to before reading For Luca.

This is the final installment in the Fallon and Luca story, even though there are more books in this series. Fallon and Luca have separated due to the lack of trust between them. I appreciated the realism in the time span with which things occur as so many times in books major events last only days. It is obvious the love for each that Fallon and Luca have but neither trust the other.

"I ache for him in a way I've never ached before"

Fallon is frustrating in this book and I don't agree with some of her decisions. Luca tries so hard to do the right thing with Fallon that sometimes you forget he is a second in command in the Chicago syndicate.

"..our love would go on whether she is with me or not."

"Law enforcement has let me down, and I let Luca down, and now he's shut the door on us for good."

There is so many twist and revelations (a major one at the end) in For Luca that it definitely kept me on my toes.

I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to For Adriano. For Fallon has been my favorite so far, but I foresee some good stuff in the next book.

I read the first book and loved it, this one was even better more grittier and gripping, I loved reading both sides of the characters. I haven't a bad word to say about these books. I can't wait to read about Andriano. Well done Soraya Naomi for these well written books. If u like the mafia books you won't b disappointed in these.

I'm so glad I found this author and I just love the writing style as it suits me just fine! I love Mafia stories and think this is one of the best I have read. I'm hoping Adriano's story will be out quickly as need more from this author. The characters were believable and story left you guessing about the surprises coming.

The second in this two book series. Raw, gritty and pulled no punches. I was ecstatic, miserable, hopeful then sad again. Turned upside down and inside out with this story - which way would it turn next. ?Gorgeous, sexy and very dangerous characters who could terrify you one minute and melt your heart the next. Haven't read a story like this for many a year. More coming from this author and I will be at the front of the queue. Fabulous!!!

For Luca (Chicago Syndicate #2) -

Well, that was quite the ride… I thought the first book, For Fallon was intense. Honestly, the lead up to the finale of Fallon and Luca’s story was amazingly well done and I feel very exhausted and satisfied *wink wink* with how this all played out. Starting this book I was a little concerned that it was going to be slow as things just seem to gradually build. Like a roller coaster hill… then BOOM you are dropping at record speeds with no way to stop. I say gradually because the book picks up right after the last one with no time passing and things seem to just go back to normal for our heroine until everything is sudden not okay. I was pretty frustrated with Fallon in portions of this book but I understand her actions and why the author chose to lead things in an almost aggravating manner. The payoff is well worth it and I stand by my 5 stars!

    SPOILERS!!!

The events that happen to Fallon, one after another, are insane. I’m very shocked that both her parents are killed but even more surprised (which maybe is strange to think) by the fact that she was actually raped. I haven’t read a lot of mafia based books, mostly cause they don’t hold my interest, so big props to Soraya Naomi, but in typical romantic novel fashion the rape is 9/10 an almost situation. I don’t know if authors do this on purpose or just like to leave this horrible act out of their stories cause it’s a stomach turner… but I’m impressed by the way this was handled. I mean, let’s be honest. Bad shit would happen to this chick based on her situation and Luca doesn’t have super powers to know the moment she’s in trouble. I think it was needed for us to understand how rock bottom Fallon had sunk and as jarring as it was to read this information, I think it was the right choice. Also, I applaud how it was written (for my own sanity, ha) and how the actual incident wasn’t drawl out. I think the more important focus was on the aftermath and Soraya did a great job.

The intricate web of the Chicago Syndicate is vast and well represented in these first two novels. I deeply love Fallon and Luca and am super sad their story is over yet thrilled with how it was wrapped up. I have a feeling I will be chaining through the rest of this series in record time. For as much as I love Luca, I am crazy curious about Adriano and what his deal is in regards to Cam. The breadcrumbs left behind in this book was enough to make me want to jump right in to For Adriano. Do yourself a favor and let this incredible series take you on an action-packed adventure full of deception, love, and LOTS of steam!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fallon and Luca
Reviewed in the United States on 24 September 2024
Ok, I really didn’t like Luca for most of this book. He did redeem himself in the end tho. He was just too dismissive of Fallon, esp when he knew how hard she was struggling. It seemed almost too easy for him to erase her from his life. The power dynamic was unequal in their relationship with Luca having more power, money and emotional strength. Fallon was always behind and had to catch up. He kept his life as. Mafia underboss from her but acts hurt and upset that she keeps minor things from him. Luca acted like he knew her better than anyone yet he didn’t trust her for far too long and he ignored her and put her aside when she needed him. I know this is a stand-alone but I really think the first book needs to be read to understand their former relationship as this is a second chance romance. I’m happy for their HEA but in this case, it’s mostly Fallon who had to adapt to her life with Luca.

I have read a lot of books and love a lot of books and this one has definitely found its way to one of my all time favorites. I generally don’t care for duets so if I had known book 1 was the first of a duet I likely wouldn’t have read it and I would have really missed out! This book was emotionally draining but in the best possible way. I think I’m actually going to have to read another less angst and suspenseful book before continuing to the next book in the series. Read it, you won’t be disappointed.
